Greater Than Operator (TdPeriodDate)

Teradata.Client.Provider Namespace > TdPeriodDate Structure : Greater Than Operator
An instance of TdPeriodDate.
An instance of TdPeriodDate.
Compares two TdPeriodDate structures to determine whether the left is greater than the right operand.
Syntax
'Declaration

Public Operator >( _
   ByVal left As TdPeriodDate, _
   ByVal right As TdPeriodDate _
) As Boolean
'Usage

public bool operator >(
   TdPeriodDate left,
   TdPeriodDate right
)
public:
bool operator >(
   TdPeriodDate left,
   TdPeriodDate right
)

Parameters

left
An instance of TdPeriodDate.
right
An instance of TdPeriodDate.

Return Value

A boolean is returned that indicates the result of the comparison.
Remarks

The beginning and ending bounds between the left and right operands are compared to determine whether the left period is greater than the right. The left is greater than the right if the following is true:

    left.Begin > right.Begin OR (left.Begin == right.Begin AND left.End > right.End)

The value returned is true if the left is greater than the right, false otherwise.

Return Value Description
true left and right are not TdPeriodDate.Null and left is greater than right.
false

left and / or right is Null

-or-

left is less than or equal to right.

Comparison operators always returns false if one of the operands is Null. Therefore, you must not assume that the reverse condition is true. For example you cannot assume that the left operand is less than or equal to the right operand if the ">" operator returns false.
